Who are we?
The IFSA network, previously called the International Finance Student Association is the largest finance student association in the world, connecting more than 35.000 members and 100 analysts across 5 continents. The association was established by Jules Maitrepierre in 2014 at the renowned Rotterdam School of Management, a part of the Erasmus University Rotterdam with the goal of connecting, educating and empowering the future financial leaders. Since its establishment, the IFSA Network grew rapidly and became the largest student finance association after only 2 years gaining numerous members from prestigious universities such as Harvard, LSE, HEC Paris or New Economic School of Moscow.
How are we trying to achieve our goals?
The goal of the IFSA Network has remained the same since its establishment: to grow ever further as to reach, connect and educate even more brilliant minds with passion for finance and banking. To achieve this goal, IFSA Network always chooses only the best students from globally renowned universities. In the association, we value hard work and high effort above all. Our network is composed of different chapters throughout the world. These chapters are semi-independent units, each composed of their own board & active members. The purpose of this system is to create synergy between these in order to provide the best to our members.
What are we offering to our members?
There is a lot that the IFSA Network offers to its members. To begin with, we provide our members with a wide net of contacts in numerous countries. We always want for our members to succeed and with this first-class network as well as great reputation, we can create valuable opportunities for them. Current and previous members of the IFSA worked or are now working for top companies such as Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Deutsche Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Sequoia BV, Citibank, BNP Paribas, Credit Suisse, Thomson Reuters, Societe Generale or The Boston Consulting Group (BCG). Our local events in the form of lectures and workshops also prepare our members for the financial world. In addition to lectures, we provide services like CV and cover letter checks and very important mock interviews. Through organizing numerous large competitions and events, our members can obtain valuable practical experience, but also knowledge about various financial topics such as private equity, hedge funds, mergers & acquisitions or equity derivatives. Through these events and competitions, we also give our members the opportunity to meet with key employers. In the past, we worked on events in cooperation with companies such as Sberbank, Boston Consulting Group, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley or the Blackstone group. Moreover, we organize a prestigious case competition with Harvard University, which also offers exposure and networking opportunities for our members.
